HBCU Collective Monthly Meeting "Strengthening Orchestra Programs at HBCUs", July 28, 2021
When one thinks of HBCU Instrumental Music Programs, it is generally easy to think of the outstanding marching, concert, and jazz bands at the historic institutions. This month we will take a dive into the orchestra programs at HBCUs! We will discuss the history of the programs and how we can strengthen their presence on the campuses of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Be sure to register and tune in to hear from a dynamic panel of music educators including Dr. Darryl E. Harris, Sr. (Jackson State University), Prof. Lowell Hollinger (Jackson State University & Mississippi Symphony Orchestra), Prof. Naima Burrs (Virginia State University), and Dr. Reginald McDonald (Tennessee State University).
